Meet Leonie, new Uni Ambassador of the Berlin Geekettes!

September 11, 2013 Jess Erickson
Leonie Gross, BG Uni Ambassador

Hi Ladies,

So nice to meet you all! I´m Leonie. I grew up in Austria, studied business in Innsbruck and moved to Berlin in 2010. I co-founded the social startup BetterWorld-Network.org and the German chapter of the international organisation MakeSense, which connects and supports social entrepreneurs all over the world.

Social Entrepreneurship is a really important topic to me; I truly believe in the power of entrepreneurs who want to make a difference. Since 2012, I am working as a Project Manager at the "Center for Entrepreneurship of TU Berlin", where we support student and alumni founders, connect the startup scene with TU Berlin and try to inspire young people to work on their own ideas. I met Jess & Denise a while ago and was very impressed by their energy and the vision behind the Geekettes. Most of TU´s startups are founded by men and only 30% of TU´s students are women, so it is high-time to get more women on board. As the University Ambassador of the Berlin Geekettes, I will encourage more young women to start an education and career in tech and to support them along the way. We´re planning events, workshops and training sessions at universities and schools and are looking forward to introduce you to lots of new geekettes soon!

Love,

Leonie
